Drying time is calculated as load weight multiplied by a rate that varies by fabric type and drying method.
Drying rates (minutes per kg)
- Tumble dryer: Cotton 12, Synthetics 8, Towels 15, Denim 18
- Line drying: Cotton 60, Synthetics 40, Towels 90, Denim 120
- Indoor airer: Cotton 180, Synthetics 120, Towels 300, Denim 360
- Heated airer: Cotton 90, Synthetics 60, Towels 150, Denim 180
Wool should never be tumble dried — always air dry flat.
