This calculator recommends a treatment method and estimates soak time based on the stain type, fabric type and how old the stain is.
Soak time
Soak time = Base soak (by age) x Fabric modifier
Fresh stains: 10 mins base. Recent: 30 mins. Set-in: 60 mins. Delicate fabrics (silk, wool) increase soak time as gentler methods take longer.
Success rate
An estimated success rate accounts for stain age, fabric type and stain difficulty. Fresh stains on cotton have the highest chance of full removal.
